ANOTHER SEASON

The eastern section of ancient Silk Road, from Xi'an to Dunhuang, I'd like to walk alone thoroughly. It's the road of Buddhism coming to China, where I find my enthusiasm for the grand desert. Moreover, it's my encounter with the unknown landscape.

There are silences, with fountain in the woods and cloudy haze. There are traces from the ancient civilization, and the most important is exploration for a seer. There are also natural creatures, which persistently and simply exist everywhere regardless of the dynasty or nation changes over time, with the primitive strength born from basic instinct. One season after one season, it resembles the circle of life. Like a pilgrim, I position myself into landscape, villages, and temples, exploring the spirituality of the inner self, to embrace ineffable adventures, and to update various statements of the Silk Road in the books.

I try to remove as many as possible historical and time traces in my photographs. I hope to place current time in a relatively distant position, so I can use photograph to connect the past of ancient Silk Road and its future.
